Lincoln Southeast sent an email to families, stressing that the walkout was entirely student-led and not endorsed by the school or Lincoln Public Schools. Armed with signs like “Skipping our lessons to teach you one,” the students marched around the school at 37th Street and Sheridan Boulevard, chanting and demanding attention. Lincoln Police were on hand to keep things safe, but the protest took an unexpected turn when a school resource officer asked the students to wrap it up. Why?
