Imagine a motorcycle that blends the raw power of a drag bike with the sleek sophistication of a café racer. That's exactly what Buraq Motorcycles from Hyderabad, India, has achieved with their stunning Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 custom build. And this is the part most people miss: it's not just about looks; this bike is a serious performer, shedding 66 pounds and gaining a bit more bite in the process.
Royal Enfield is no stranger to the custom motorcycle scene, consistently partnering with the world's top builders to create jaw-dropping machines that showcase their latest models. Right now, the spotlight is on the Guerrilla 450, and Buraq's creation is a standout example of what this platform can become.
Built to compete in Royal Enfield's Busted Knuckles Build-Off, this café racer earned a well-deserved silver medal for its sporty silhouette and luxurious finishes. But here's where it gets controversial: while some purists might argue against altering the Guerrilla's original design, Buraq's reinterpretation proves that radical customization can elevate a bike to a whole new level.
Co-founder Adnan Hashmi explains their vision: to merge “drag bike aggression with café racer elegance.” To achieve this, Buraq overhauled both the bodywork and the running gear. The stock subframe was replaced with a sleek trellised unit, topped with a carbon fiber seat cowl inspired by classic muscle bikes. Beneath the stylish twin-textured seat lies a handmade electronics tray and a custom shock bracket, with an adjustable Öhlins shock supporting the tail.
Up front, a bespoke carbon fiber fairing, mounted on handmade brackets, dominates the look. It features a tinted windscreen borrowed from a BMW R 12 nineT fairing and an offset LED headlight surrounded by playful decals. Further back, a carbon fiber fuel tank cover sits atop an aluminum reservoir, seamlessly following the OEM design lines.
The front end is a masterclass in upgrades, boasting Yamaha R1 forks, a BMW R 1250 GS steering damper, and a three-piston brake caliper paired with a Nissin master cylinder. The rear Brembo caliper and braided stainless steel hoses complete the high-performance braking system.
Under the surface, Buraq installed a PowerTRONIC ECU and a quick-shifter for smoother gear changes. A custom stainless steel exhaust system, matched with a titanium Arrow muffler, enhances both sound and performance. The air intake, coolant reservoir, and wiring loom are all bespoke, powered by a lightweight Lithium-ion battery.
Equipped with clip-on bars and Gilles Tooling footpegs on custom rear-set brackets, this Guerrilla 450 is ready for aggressive riding. The bike’s weight reduction and modified rear sprocket add an extra layer of responsiveness, making it a true thrill to ride.
Finished in a striking combination of black, glossy carbon fiber, and yellow accents, this café racer is all business. But the real question is: does this level of customization enhance or detract from the Guerrilla 450's original charm? Let us know your thoughts in the comments—we’re eager to hear your take on this bold reinterpretation.
